In case some members have never RP'd before, I have created a mini-lesson to make sure that everyone feels at home and is comfortable playing. Here are a few guidelines to RPing on Twilight Love
1. BE CREATIVE!!! That is the absolute most important factor in RPing.
Wrong:"Mary walked down the street looking for friends" - you will NEVER have a story with this kind of posting, which defeats the purpose of having fun here.
Right: "Mary slid down the slippery slope with her teeth bared and leaped up a tree waiting for innocent prey to find their way past the tree. She was very thirsty, having not hunted for several days and was eager for some delicious mountain lion or grizzly bear" See? MUCH more interesting. It will also be easier to follow the three lines rules if you are creative.
2. Post in third person. It makes the post MUCH easier to follow
Wrong: Mary: I ran down the stairs late for class
Joe: I was hurrying down the hall when i bumped into Mary
Right: Mary: Mary flew down the stairs late for class
Joe: Joe was running down the hall when he bumped into Mary
3. Use quotation marks.
Wrong: Hi *said Mary to Joe.* Hi Mary *Joe replied*
Right: "Hi" said Mary to Joe. "Hi Mary." Joe replied.
4. No God-Moding: God-moding means posting what another person does. You are not a mind reader and cannot guess what they are going to do until they do it:
Wrong: Mary said "Hi Joe" and Joe greeted her back
Right: Mary said "Hi Joe" and waited for his reaction
5. Check your spelling and grammar. We do not use IM speak in role play, because you (usually) wouldn't do it in real conversation and it looks childish. Please write the way you would speak and with punctuation and capital letters and correct spelling. There is a spell-check button next to "reply" for this reason precisely
Wrong: i walkd 2 mary and said hey
Right: Joe walked over to Mary and said "Hey!"
See? Looks much more professional
6. No member bashing, being mean to people OOC (Out of character) etc.
This basically means the following. Do not send people mean messages on here. Do not say something mean to someone in a post as OOC. Joking is one thing but meaning mean to...just be mean and/or to act cool is just not tolerated on here. Your character can be mean to an other character if it is in character though. So be nice to people basically
